Evolution was cut in half within the span of a few minutes in early March. Batista and Randy Orton both suffered serious injuries in the same house show tag team match, leaving only Triple H and Ric Flair as semi-healthy members of the group. One of their opponents, Buh Buh Ray Dudley, got hurt in that match as well.

Excerpt from an article entitled "The Injury Epidemic"

Consider a tag team match that took place during a March 1 house show in Reading, Pennsylvania. Randy Orton, fresh off the injury list after spending several months nursing a separated shoulder, broke several bones in his foot and dislocated his big toe. Batista, on the wrong end of a Dudley Boyz flapjack, suffered a torn triceps. Both Evolution members are expected to be on the sidelines for several months. It was originally feared that Orton would miss a year or more, and it's still likely that he'll wrestle in pain for the rest of his career. Buh Buh Ray Dudley badly bruised his back, and D-Von Dudley, well, he must have been wearing his lucky socks that night.
