Cockroach Crazy
Note: In the June 2004 issue of Inside Wrestling Dave Lenker puported that Evolution fans are cockroaches. This letter is my rebuttal, published in this issue! Unfortunately, I did not seem to have saved a copy of what I e-mailed them, but I know I would have said "triceps" not "biceps"...
Dave Lenker's "On The Road" column from the June 2004 issue really made me smile, but I have news for him: I follow Evolution, but I'm not a cockroach.
I can certainly understand his point about fans of the Dallas Cowboys, because Cowboy fans that actually live in Dallas are nuts!
I lived there for three years, and that experience just made me hate the Cowboys all the more.
However, I love Batista. I've loved him from the moment I watched my first Ohio Valley Wrestling tape.
I loved him through all the ups and downs, including the prolonged injury recovery from the torn biceps.
I admire his talent. The rest of Evolution is another story ... so cheering for them comes by default from me loving Batista the way I do.
You can call all the other erstwhile Evolution fans out there cockroaches if you want ... but not me.
Incidentally, Dan Murphy's article on Batista in the same issue ("The One Man That Can Tame the Beast That is Batista!") was great!
For the record, the other fan who wrote in was a Ric Flair fan.
